However, our commitment to responsibility does not end at our company's borders: we also place great importance on the highest environmental and social standards when selecting our suppliers. All our partners hold recognized certifications in the areas of environmental management, occupational safety, quality management, and compliance - for example, according to ISO 14001, ISO 45001 as part of various audits.
Regular inspections and visits to the production facilities ensure that our leather goods are not only manufactured with excellent quality but also under ethically and ecologically responsible conditions.

A central component of our
sustainable product strategy is the selection of the right materials. That is why, at BRAUN BÜFFEL, we specifically work with leather suppliers who are certified according to the standards of the Leather Working Group (LWG). The LWG is an internationally recognized organization that promotes ecological and social standards in leather production - particularly in the areas of water and energy consumption, waste management, and chemical use.
We currently already use a significant proportion of LWG-certified leather and are doing everything we can to continuously increase this proportion. Because every piece of certified leather brings us closer to our goal: a resource-efficient, transparent, and responsible supply chain - from the tannery to the finished product.
With the support of the Leather Working Group, BRAUN BÜFFEL actively contributes to making the leather industry more sustainable.
Digital Transparency with osapiens
As part of our commitment to responsible supply chains, we rely on the osapiens HUB, a digital platform for fulfilling regulatory requirements along the entire value chain. By connecting to the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), the osapiens HUB enables us to track the origin of our materials even more precisely and actively avoid risks such as deforestation.
Transparent data collection not only strengthens our compliance but also our ecological responsibility: it helps us design sustainable supply chains and ensure that products are not associated with deforestation or environmental destruction. The osapiens HUB is thus another step on our path to greater sustainability and transparency.

Our contribution to the energy transition
Into the Future with Solar Energy
Our commitment to climate protection and the energy transition is of great importance. As a company, it is our responsibility to take measures to reduce CO2 emissions and switch to renewable energies.
For this reason, we have decided to rely on solar energy at our BRAUN BÜFFEL leather manufactory at our company headquarters in Kirn. The photovoltaic system, which we have been using in our manufactory since 2013, is an important part of our sustainability strategy.
By using solar energy, we already cover a remarkable 80% of the energy consumption of our manufactory and our offices today. It is particularly important to us that we not only make our operations more environmentally friendly but also save costs.
The use of solar energy is one of the most sustainable and environmentally friendly methods of energy generation. Unlike fossil fuels, which produce harmful emissions, solar energy is emission-free. This means that by choosing to switch to solar energy, we are actively contributing to the reduction of greenhouse gases and thus making a valuable contribution to combating climate change.
In addition to environmental friendliness, solar energy also offers other advantages: it is noise-free and odor-free and thus causes no disturbances in the surroundings. The sun as an energy source is limitlessly available and its use produces no waste products or residues.
