Experience the Leather Manufacturer

DIY Workshops & Events

The history of leather manufacturing goes hand in hand with classic saddlery craftsmanship, and that is where the roots of Braun Büffel lie. The lovingly crafted leather goods are now known worldwide for their highest precision and quality. The leather manufacturer, established in 1887, still trains fine leather goods makers, stitchers, and other specialists for leather processing today. Maintaining leather goods production in Germany is at the core of Braun Büffel's corporate philosophy and a personal concern for the 4th generation family owner.

Experience craftsmanship up close

The manufactory charm is noticeable in the Kirn and Offenbach production facilities as soon as you enter – the scent of leather fills the air. Watching the skilled workers at work is impressive. Consumers often forget today how much time and sensibility go into手工 production.

The work steps are diverse: from selecting raw leather materials and choosing seams, to stamping, quilting, and embossing. The surprising reactions of our visitors have prompted us to open the manufactory doors for you.

We want to share with you the enlightenment about craftsmanship and the once-in-a-lifetime experience of being able to create a leather product yourself.

DIY Workshop - The Leather Experience with our Fine Leather Craftsmen

How does a workshop work?

The workshops are always held in small groups of up to 8 people. You will sit at a table together with one of our fine leather craftsmen. At the beginning, you will receive a brief introduction to the material leather and the general production steps. You can then choose which leather accessory you would like to make. The selection usually includes a glasses case, a card holder, various sizes of phone cases, and keychains. Here's how to create your personal leather favorite step-by-step:

  • Choose from a wide selection of different leathers.
  • For each accessory, there is a template that you will need to punch the holes.
  • Now, use a hammer and a punch to punch all the holes according to the template.
  • Then, choose a waxed thread in your desired color.
  • The saddle stitch is now made with the needle.
  • Depending on the accessory, a snap fastener or key ring will be attached.
  • Finally, if desired, personalization in the form of a silver, gold, or blind embossing will be added.
  • And your very own leather accessory is complete!

How can I participate in a workshop?

Workshops are offered at various locations throughout the year. You can register for these by email.

Participation in some workshops is free and includes the production of a leather accessory! However, additional products can be made for an extra charge. A participation fee is charged for some workshops.
